You recommend not answering the phone if you are busy. If you want to establish your independence, that makes sense I guess. My BF and I live a couple thousand miles apart, and are together only about three months out of the year. We talk every day … sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes for hours. If he calls when I am busy, I pick up, say that I am busy and we agree on a time for me to call him back. But if I hear the phone and see his name pop up, yeah, I’m pretty much going to answer it. He hasn’t made an issue of it; it is just my way of letting him know where he stands on my priority list.
