You appear to be a young man searching for meaning in life, and for that I commend you. But you display a bias toward dichotomous thinking which runs roughshod over the vast range of possibilities that await the serious student of either philosophy or science.

In this post you reduce the numerous varieties of religious assumptions and beliefs to (1) Christianity; and (2) the Harvard System--that is, all the rest, which you assume are essentially the same (offering salvation only to those who have earned it).

But this is a false dichotomy. What do you know of traditional African religion? of Karaite beliefs? of Taoism? It is erroneous to think that all religions are obsessed with sin, or even focused on salvation (as Christians generally define the term).

I do hope that you find the meaning that you are searching for--and perhaps you have. But if you wish to convert others to your point of view, you may need to considerably broaden those views.
