When people tell us what God wants or expects of us, the unspoken premise is that the creator and source of the universe (a) wants to communicate with us; and (b) somehow needs their assistance to do so. I don't know about you, but that strikes me as a WTF proposition.

Personally, i prefer the tradition that says when we get to the World to Come, we will have to account for all of the pleasures that the deity offered us, but which we spurned.
