Whatever you think of his goals, Tito was a master politician … he knew when to bluff, when to draw and when to fold. Milosovic was the opposite: his answer to every problem was the same: brute force. If you want to blame someone for the “crime” of dismembering Yugoslavia, you don’t need to go abroad and point at Clinton or Blair … the largest share of the blame will rightfully be assigned, by historians, to a man woefully unable to meet the demands of his time, and utterly incapable of replacing Tito.
