Well, that is ONE narrative about CRT, but not the only one--nor one that anyone involved in the movement is likely to espouse. CRT is an attempt to bring some balance to teaching and understanding our history. No college student should ever graduate believing either that America is "hopelessly racist" or that it has truly ever been "the land of the free." Instead, American history is a 240 year struggle, against much internal resistance, to realize the "self-evident truths" stated in the Declaration of Independence, that we are all created equal. Steady, albeit painfully slow, progress has been made, and that itself is inspirational. We don't need to foster "patriotic" (one-sided) narratives to make white people--like me--feel better. We just need to tell the truth, the whole truth, in a balanced way. CRT can help us do that.

Moved by a conviction that we humans--gifted with reason--can do so much better than we are; asks how both politics and faith can better serve humanity's needs.
