The astounding thing is that a higher mortality rate didnʻt temper the enthusiasm that Trumpʻs followers had for him … these people didnʻt ʻsupportʻ Trump as much as they identified with him—his reality, delusional as it was, became their reality. Will be interesting to see if DeSantis can evoke that same type of blind loyalty.
