Thanks, James. It does appear that many of the larcenous types attracted to Trump are finally getting their richly deserved comeuppance. But the fact that, after his chaotic first term in office, roughly 29% of the eligible electorate still thought that he was the best person for the job is sobering. We are far from a true democracy (the filibuster, electoral college, and lack of equal representation in the senate make us, at best, a "federal republic with democratic features, but many aspects of minority rule.") But no matter how flawed our democracy is, I will never again take it for granted. Optimism is a kind of religion for me, but keeping the faith these days is a challenge!
