Thanks again, Ray, and I do agree … I would only add that if you don’t like oatmeal, trying to force yourself to love it is not only a waste of time but is also unfair to the oatmeal — so to speak. I thnk I just mangled the metaphor, but you get the idea.

I spent seven years married to a perfectly nice woman, trying to convince both her and myself that I was attractked to her. I failed on both counts (for any reader trying to either will or pray the gay away, please stop — it ain’t gonna happen).

We can fake anything at a distance … a hell of a lot more difficult to fake it when the other person lies in your arms. Perhaps at the end of the day, sexual attraction is the one area where we need not treat all people equally — simply because we can’t. We’re just not wired that way.
