Martin, I couldn't possibly agree more about the need for Dems to start telling the stories that matter ... or that would matter if they were ever told. You mentioned the crime rate, but that's just one rung in the ladder. Lifespan, average wage and hour earnings, percentage of the population with health coverage, percentage of the population with college degrees, home ownership ... choose virtually any quality of life indicator that you want, and the blue states consistently outperform red states.
But does the public know any of that? Democrats run states that actually work, and the Republicans set the campaign agenda by absurdly arracking the legions of trans women who are plotting to steal athletic scholarships from cisgender girls, or other "issues" of similar scope and urgency. Imagine what this country could become if Democrats could tell their story half as well as they govern?
