I have no doubt that the planet will withstand the demands of the aggrieved … I am considerably less confident that it will survive the avarice of the west. The wholesale rationalization of evil by the most wealthy and powerful led to colonization with all of its attendant crimes … and it is that same lust for more, always more, that has led the most wealthy and most powerful to expand the fossil fuels industry and fight alternative energy sources even though they are fully aware of the damage that they are causing.

By all means, let the aggreived keep one eye on the past and pursue justice for yesterdayʻs wrongs—but I would hope that you will also cast one eye toward the future and help fight the wrongs taking place today.
