Hi Amanda, and thanks for the kind comments. And yes, i just checked and the Christian Mingle website is still up and operational. And that's fair enough ... there really does seem to be a site for every group and perhaps even for every fetish. Flingster, for instance, is just one of several that offer members an experience akin to a zoom room, where they are randomly matched with other people from around the globe who share certain interests (effectively, it is a cover for individuals who want to meet others for mutual masturbation, and they have options for men or women, whether they are straight, gay or opposed to labels)

It clearly promotes safer sex ... the only contact a person has with his or her partner is visual and/or auditory. I have no objection to any of the above, but I am curious about whether or not that kind of sex play will be considered a violation of marital vows in the future. I can visualize a whole new specialty for attorneys and private investigators !

Before grad school I used my VA benefits to pick up a couple of four-year degrees--one of which is in comparative religion . I could go on at great length about the peculiar blindness that many religious communities have developed around their own ethics and religious practices--and the harm that they have caused. American Protestantism is hardly alone in that regard--but it has definitely stood out. Sadly. consistency is not one of the more prominent human virtues.
