Avery is no doubt correct when she suggests that your anger and--dare I say contempt--for religious bigots and bigotry is unlikely to change many minds. But I would like to add that your words haven't been wasted--they have given both voice and comfort to a lot of LGBTQ individuals whose families have not supported them, and who yearn to know that we have allies. For that, thank you.
