As a Jew, who has been involved in race relations work for years, I have one request. Please don't confuse the views of a relatively small clique of self-appointed "leaders" with the sentiments of the larger American Jewish community ... they are not the same.

I have spent an enormous amount of time over the past six years trying to educate people about the dangers posed by the coalition of climate deniers, white nationalists, race baiters and other 'patriots' who have taken over the Republican Party. I have spent zero time talking about Ye. He is a man who has some talent--and some serious mental health issues ... and unfortunately, he doesn't recognize how he is being exploited and manipulated by his new "friends" (who don't actually give a damn about him).

Not all Jews are good allies of the Black community, and not all Blacks are free of antisemitism. But I vigorously reject the notion that either group stands alone. Those of us who have long worked together need to continue doing so ... doubting and withdrawing from one another plays into the hands of those who will never befriend either community. Their strategy has always been to 'divide and conquer' ... let's not give them an easy win.
