Aloha e Jeff,

Thank you for your comment. We have had a brief exchange of views once or twice earlier, but I don 't think that I said anything concerning my own formal religious affiliation. For the purposes of our 'give and take' on Medium, I am not sure that that is necessary, but in the event that someone else feels that it is important, I wanted to be fully open. (See my response to Leia's comments, above.)

Needless to say, you and I probably disagree on virtually every word of your response after the first sentence. I have thought that it would be very educational if two lay persons, one Jewish and one evangelical, had a dialogue about their different perspectives regarding fundamental issues such as the nature and existence of God and of faith, the central purpose of religion, what 'salvation' means, implications of the Hebrew concept of justice, etc.

This is neither the time nor the place to begin that discussion however, so I will refrain from commenting on any of the particulars in your remarks. I do respect you as a person of faith and I hope that all is well with you and yours.
